East & West Campus Entries (Renderings)

Santa Barbara, CA

Due to the projected increase in pedestrian activity associated with proposed public infrastructure improvements along Cliff Drive, we recognized early on that the existing drop-off area needed to be reimagined not simply as a functional drop-off zone, but as a true Entry Plaza — the new front door of the East Campus.

The first rendering illustrates the overall composition of the space — the generous paved gathering area, low seat walls framing the perimeter, and the warm character of the hardscape materials. The design reflects Santa Barbara’s architectural heritage while still feeling appropriate for today’s students. Every element — including paving patterns, ramps, curb cuts, and path widths — has been designed to meet or exceed ADA standards.

The second rendering captures what we believe will become one of the most photographed spots on campus.  The monumental sign, positioned prominently at the heart of the Entry Plaza, is designed with intentionality — we anticipate students will use it as a backdrop for photos and social media content, effectively turning it into a living ambassador for the college's brand and community spirit.  The scale, the lettering, the materials, and the surrounding plaza all work together to create that 'instagrammable' moment.  This isn't just signage — it's a statement of identity and pride for the entire campus community.
